My father, Percy Schneider, took these "movies" in the mid 1950s to early 60s. I think there were more but only one reel of 16mm film has survived. I don't know what type of camera he was using and there is no audio.
I believe Dad had this reel transcribed to VHS cassette format at one point and distributed some copies but I don't have one. I had the original reel put onto a DVD last year. As you will see the film is not of the best quality and the scenes change abruptly. I have been meaning to edit it to "break it up" with captions describing each segment but so far have not found the time (or program) to do that. I have a pretty good idea where most scenes are taken and who the people are if you want to know.
The video is too big to attach here so I've put it on YouTube at: http://youtu.be/vY0caymZHzI.
The segments are almost all of Pody and me and later Lynn (and our little dogs) or from Dad's or Pody's side of the family.
The very first segment on a highway at dusk is a mystery. There is also a very cute segment of a boy feeding a deer -- I don't know who that is and think it might have been shot at a farm at a customer of Dad's.
Some of my personal favourites:
- the scene where my aunt Myra (Dad's sister) and uncle Bill arrive with their new baby, my cousin Victoria; then Victoria and I are walking together and she falls down
- the short scene where I am walking with my frail grandmother (Pody's mother) Rebecca Hahn, who died soon after
- the scene where I am sitting on the porch in Milverton with my cousins Charles and Joan (followed by a scene with their parents, my uncle Fred (Dad's brother) and aunt Bernice)
- the scene where Pody is holding baby Lynn and shakes her to look at the camera
- a lovely scene of Pody's sister Hildie and her husband Murray walking toward the camera (followed by a scene of me walking with their sons, my cousins John and Paul)
- the long scene with Lynn and me and the dogs sitting on the lawn of the house in Milverton (if you look closely at one point I try to take her doll and she grabs it back)
- the scene of Pody's family on the lawn of the house of Pody's sister Nornie in Detroit (at one point Pody gives me a few slaps on the bum for horsing around)
The wedding scene getting near the end (before the Muskoka scenes) is of my cousin Ron Carrothers, son of Pody's sister Vera, and his bride Gwen.
At some point I hope to get to either editing the film or at least listing all the scenes. In the meantime, if you have a question, just ask. Would love comments too!

Great job Uncle Dan, I really loved watching these images. Very cool to see you and mom so young. I loved seeing you on the three wheeler in that little lumberjack hat, adorable! It would be great to go through these together when we see each other again, just to clarify who everyone is. Thanks again for a sharing a cool piece of history!! xo
